Description
Stewart and Stevenson began producing the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles for the U.S. Army in the late 1980’s, which can be further broken down into two categories: the MTV (Medium Tactical Vehicle) and LMTV (Light Medium Tactical Vehicle).
The MTV was designed as a 6×6 truck rated for a 5-ton payload and powered by a Cat 3116 turbo diesel engine. MTVs typically feature CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System) which allows the driver to input the terrain they are currently traveling over, consequently fluctuating the tire air pressure allowing for maximum traction.
